Equatorial coordinate horizon map
Plot objects from your own equatorial coordinates on a north-up local sky diagram and list their altitude and azimuth.
Your inputs
Start with the example values, then replace them with your own. For tables, keep the vertical bar separators and use a dot for decimals.
Never look at the Sun through a telescope or binoculars without correctly fitted specialist solar equipment. These calculations do not establish safe equipment use.

How it works
Transform entered equator-of-date right ascension and declination into apparent horizon coordinates. Plot above-horizon objects with zenith at the center, north up and east right. Catalog J2000 coordinates must first be precessed to date; proper motion, parallax, terrain and weather are not inferred. The sample objects are synthetic.
Worked example
These sample results use the original example inputs in the form. They do not change when you edit your inputs; your own result appears in the workspace.
- Objects above apparent horizon: 2
| Object | Altitude | Azimuth |
|---|---|---|
| Object A | 47.0075 | 105.529 |
| Object B | 1.3641 | 33.2034 |
| Object C | -39.8119 | 295.6565 |
Read the result carefully
Results depend on the values and assumptions shown above. Change one input at a time to see its effect. A blank or unavailable result means the data does not support a calculation; it is not zero.
